QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
WHEN DO I WATER MY PLANTS?
Morning (AM) water is definitely best for any outdoor plants including the lawn. If you do not have the time in the morning, then in the evening between 6:00 and 8:00 PM will work.
You should water your plant when it becomes dry. We determine this by the weight of the pot. When you get the pot home water it until water pours out the holes in the bottom of the pot. This is the heaviest the pot will ever get. In the next days pick up this pot and it will continue to get lighter. When it feels half as heavy then water the pot.
DO I HAVE TO DEAD HEAD MY FLOWERS?
First, dead heading is when you remove the spent or dead flowers from the plant. By removing the dead flowers your plants and arrangements will look fresh and beautiful. Most plants need to be dead headed to continue to grow or flower. Be careful that you do not disturb the new buds that are growing next to the dead flowers. You can use a scissors or knife but, be careful.
CAN I PUT A SUN PLANT IN THE SHADE?
This is a complicated question. Sun plants will survive in the shade, but they will not grow correctly. In some case as in most perennials, they may not flower. Sun plants will tolerate shade, but will not thrive in this environment. They may even stretch or turn yellow.
I HAVE YELLOW SPOTS ON MY LEAVES. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
This is an impossible question to answer with out seeing the plant. It could be a disease or insect problem. It is best to call us at (920) 564-2775 to help determine the problem and correct the situation.
